BETHEL, Alaska (AP) - One of three finalists for the position of city manager in Bethel will be visiting the community next week.
Bob Sivick of Omaha, Nebraska, was among some 30 people to apply for the job. The search came after former City Manager Ann Capela filed notice to leave her three-year contract early, citing struggles with the climate.
Bethel City Clerk Lori Strickler says Sivick is set to arrive Sunday night. She says there will be a reception in the community for him on Monday.
Strickler says Sivick previously served as city attorney for the city of Grand Island, Nebraska.
Bethel Port Director Pete Williams is currently serving as acting city manager.
