TULARE, Calif. (AP) - The Latest on a Central California man barricaded in home (all times local):

3:30 p.m.

Authorities say a man who shot and critically wounded his wife and 9-month old daughter has shot and killed himself in a Central California home, ending a standoff with officers.

Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux said Thursday that the woman and baby girl are both clinging to life at a hospital. Officials say 37-year-old Larry Zamora shot them in an early morning argument before barricading himself in a home several miles away.

Boudreaux says the woman was holding the baby when Zamora shot them.

He says the gunman is a known gang member with a violent history.

Authorities say the gunman fired on officers, striking one in on the helmet. The officer was treated and released from a hospital.

The sheriff says the standoff ended when deputies sent a robot into the house, finding the dead gunman.

A wanted man opened fire on Central California police during a standoff Thursday, hitting an officer in his helmet.

Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux says the officer was taken to the hospital, treated and released.

KFSN reports (https://abc30.tv/2edh8Pz ) police say 37-year-old Larry Zamora shot a woman, believed to be his wife, and his baby girl early Thursday morning before hiding in a home several miles away. Both the woman and the baby are listed in critical condition. Their names and ages were not released.

Tulare Police and members of the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office have surrounded the home, where Zamora remains alone. Boudreaux says the suspect fired multiple times at law enforcement. Neighbors have been evacuated.
