NASHUA, N.H. (AP) - The case of a New Hampshire man convicted of second-degree assault in an incident in which he hit two women with his car in Hampton has been argued before the state Supreme Court in its annual “On the Road” visit.
WMUR-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2dMPYB5) most of the arguments focused on testimony about a marijuana grinder that police said was found in the back of Remi Gross-Santos’ car.
Defense lawyers said the evidence wasn’t relevant and was prejudicial. Ross-Santos was convicted last year of running over two women while driving to a high school graduation rehearsal the morning after an all-night party.
Prosecutors said evidence about the grinder was relevant because it questioned the defendant’s credibility and statements to police.
The court heard arguments Thursday at Bishop Guertin High School in Nashua.
