FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - OtterBox co-founders Nancy and Curt Richardson have committed more than $8 million to Colorado State University.

The Coloradoan reports (https://noconow.co/2d7f668 ) that the Richardson’s donation will go toward a new design center, to be named the Richardson Design Center. The space will allow the university to develop design-related programs, courses and possibly a new minor in design.

The $8.1 million donation will cover about half of the center’s expected $16.5 million price. CSU officials are continuing to work on raising funds for the project.

Nancy Richardson is a 1982 alumna of CSU. She and her husband Curt founded the cellphone accessory company OtterBox in 1998.
