ST. MATTHEWS, S.C. (AP) - The Calhoun County sheriff says a man was shot and killed at a truck stop on Interstate 26 during an argument over the purchase of an item advertised on Craigslist.

Sheriff Thomas Summers tells local media outlets the men met in the parking lot of the truck stop between Orangeburg and Columbia on Monday night to discuss the purchase.

He said an argument ensued and shots were fired. One man was killed and a second was wounded.

The name of the dead man is not being released until his relatives are notified. Several people are being questioned but no arrests have been made.

The sheriff did not say what the item being sold was.
