ATMORE, Ala. (AP) - Authorities are searching for an inmate who escaped from a correctional facility in Escambia County.
The Alabama Department of Corrections said in a news release that 40-year-old Jerry Lynn Hilburn escaped from J.O. Davis Correctional Center in Atmore on Monday evening. The center is an annex facility of the Fountain Correctional Facility.
Hilburn was given a 20-year sentence in 2013 for possessing a controlled substance.
The 6-foot-2 fugitive has brown hair and eyes and was last seen wearing the state-issued white uniform.
Authorities did not say how Hilburn escaped.
