TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) - Police say a woman is facing drunk-driving charges after driving the wrong way for three miles down a Florida highway.

The Tampa Bay Times reports (https://bit.ly/2dPFe5e ) that Tarpon Springs police say 43-year-old Anna Marie Sosa was spotted about 3:45 a.m. Sunday driving north in the southbound lanes of U.S. 19. Authorities say she caused a minor accident with a southbound car that swerved to avoid a head-on collision.

A police officer spotted Sosa and unsuccessfully tried to stop her using his emergency lights. The officer then passed Sosa’s car and used his vehicle to stop her.

Authorities say Sosa is facing charges of DUI and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage. It wasn’t immediately clear if she had an attorney.
