SEATTLE (AP) - A 50-year-old Renton man who pleaded guilty to public indecency in the 1990s may not have received a pardon from Gov. Jay Inslee, but he did convince a judge to dismiss the case.

The Seattle Times reports (https://bit.ly/2d38Cpa ) that Rodney Antonson’s case was dismissed Sept. 1, which Antonson’s attorney says is like a pardon but with “less fanfare.”

Antonson was among 27 men arrested in two months at Scriber Lake Park in what police called an “undercover emphasis patrol.” Gay-rights advocates say similar stings occurred across the country.

In 2015, Antonson said he was seeking a pardon from Inslee, but the governor’s Clemency and Pardons Board turned down his request in February.
