LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Authorities say a Lincoln man broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home and assaulted her and her new boyfriend.

The Lincoln Journal Star reports (https://bit.ly/2dqKWaf ) that officers who were sent to the duplex early Sunday morning found the former boyfriend there and arrested him. Online court records don’t show that he’s been formally charged.

Police spokeswoman Katie Flood says the man punched the new boyfriend and threatened to kill him and the woman. Flood says the two barricaded themselves in her bedroom, but the former boyfriend managed to cut the woman on an arm before she escaped through a window.

Flood also says children ages 4 and 12 were in the home sleeping during the assault.
