Hillary Clinton bested Donald Trump in their second presidential showdown Sunday night, according to a survey of debate watchers.
The CNN/ORC poll found that 57 percent believed Mrs. Clinton, a Democrat, won the town hall debate at Washington University in St. Louis, compared to 34 percent for Mr. Trump, a Republican.
But Mr. Trump outperformed expectations, with 63 percent saying he did better than expected, compared to 39 percent for Mrs. Clinton.
Mrs. Clinton, though, was seen in a more positive light, with 55 percent saying they have a favorable opinion of her and 34 percent saying they have a favorable opinion of Mr. Trump.
Respondents also said that Mrs. Clinton is best prepared to handle the economy, terrorism and immigration.
