BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Louisiana State police say four people have been arrested in a human trafficking investigation that began more than a year ago.
A news release from state police says a victim in the case was rescued in August of 2015, when two people were arrested.
The subsequent investigation led to the recent jailing of four others accused of holding the victim against her will and forcing her to participate in sexual activity. Suspects are being held in East Baton Rouge, Livingston and Tangipahoa parishes on human trafficking and other charges.
State police commander Mike Edmonson said the arrests resulted from a joint investigation by the state police Special Victims Unit and the sheriffs’ offices of East Baton Rouge and Livingston parishes.
