RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - More than 400 employees of Martin’s Food Markets in Virginia are about to lose their jobs.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/2dPiNgH ) reports that three of the 10 Martin’s grocery stores being sold to Florida-based Publix Super Markets Inc. will close by the end of January.

According to layoff notices the grocery chain submitted to the state, the layoffs include approximately 110 employees at a store in Glen Allen and about 330 employees at two stores in Richmond.

The notice says the stores will close on Nov. 28 or later, but no later than Jan. 20.

The paper says that all 10 of the Richmond-area stores being sold to Publix will eventually close and that Publix plans to renovate or reconstruct the stores before reopening them.
