GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Voters have approved Sunday alcohol sales in Chester, Greenville and Lancaster counties and the city of Easley and town of Central.
Unofficial returns from the State Election Commission show that 70 percent of voters in Greenville County approved the idea Tuesday.
In Easley, 58 percent of voters approved of Sunday alcohol sales.
Seventy percent in the town of Central also endorsed the idea.
It was the first time Sunday sales have been voted on in Greenville County since 1999. That referendum failed by a nearly 60 percent margin.
All six of the municipalities in Greenville County have approved alcohol sales on Sunday.
In Chester County, the sale of alcohol on Sunday was approved by 60 percent of the voters.
The margin was nearly two-thirds for voters in Lancaster County.
