BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - The president of the University of Vermont has sent an email to students, faculty and staff following the election of Donald Trump as president saying it’s especially important now to continue to work together and support each other.

UVM president Tom Sullivan wrote Wednesday that this is a challenging time for many colleagues and students, who may be feeling isolated and concerned for personal welfare. He says UVM denounces any form of bias, discrimination, or violence.

A post-election program was being hosted on campus Wednesday by Living Well and the Interfaith Center, which included reflections, meditations and a discussion.

Sullivan says if anyone needs additional support to contact the counseling center for students at 802-656-3340 or InvestEAP for employees at 802-864-3270.

He says other offices on campus also offer support.
