WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Firefighters have controlled a large fire at a complex of abandoned warehouses in Wilmington, Delaware. About 250 firefighters and emergency medical personnel responded to the four-alarm blaze, including crews from Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Battalion Chief James Jobes said by telephone Wednesday that crews controlled the fire seven hours after being called to the scene around 2 a.m. for a report of smoke. Five buildings spanning more than a quarter acre were damaged, but there are no reports of injuries.

Images from above the scene show flames spread over a large area, and video shows a section of wall collapsing as firefighters spray the building from outside.

The chief says the Wilmington fire marshal’s office will investigate the cause.
