North Korea is possibly readying a medium-range missile launch to coincide with the announcement of the winner of the U.S. presidential election. According to reports, the hermit regime wants to “send a signal” to the next American president that North Korea is a nuclear power and can attack U.S. interests with nuclear weapons.

An official from Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said: “We are closely watching every move by the North Korean military at its Punggye-ri nuclear test site and other possible missile-launching sites. “The military is fully prepared to respond to any provocative acts by the North,” reports The Sun.

The Musudan missile has an estimated range of 3,500 miles and can reach the U.S. territory of Guam, which supports allied military activities in South Korea. The Sun reports North Korea could also be readying further nuclear testing in the coming days to emphasize itsr nuclear capabilities as a new American administration prepares to take power.
