EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) - The Los Angeles Kings have activated goalie Jeff Zatkoff from injured reserve after an eight-game absence with a groin injury.
The Kings also reassigned goalie Jack Campbell to their AHL affiliate in Ontario.
Zatkoff was injured during a morning skate on Oct. 22. He played in just three games with his new team before the injury, which occurred one week after Jonathan Quick badly injured his groin in Los Angeles’ season opener.
NHL veteran Peter Budaj has been the Kings’ top goalie in Zatkoff’s absence, going 6-3-0 in 10 appearances with a 2.06 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage.
Zatkoff lost his first three decisions for the Kings with a bloated 4.38 GAA.
The Kings open a five-game road trip Tuesday at Toronto.
