NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - The Latest on the New Jersey knife-stabbing attack that left three people dead and three injured. (all times local):

10 p.m.

A man wanted for questioning in connection with the stabbing deaths of two children and a woman at a New Jersey home has been taken custody.

Authorities say 26-year-old Jeremy Arrington was taken into custody late Sunday night after he barricaded himself inside a Newark home. Arrington had been identified by police as a “person of interest” in the case. He has not been charged.

Essex County prosecutors say 8-year-old Aerial Little Whitehurst, 11-year-old Al-Jahon Whitehurst and 23-year-old Syasia McBurroughs were fatally stabbed Saturday afternoon at a home in Newark. Three other people, a 29-year-old woman, a 13-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl, were wounded. They remained hospitalized Sunday in critical, but stable condition.

Many of the victims were family members, but their exact relationships were not immediately known.

A possible motive for the attack has not yet been disclosed.

Authorities have released the names of two children and a woman killed in a stabbing at a New Jersey home that left three others injured.

That came as the search continued Sunday for 26-year-old Jeremy Arrington whom police consider a “person of interest” in the case.

Essex County prosecutors say 8-year-old Aerial Little Whitehurst and 11-year-old Al-Jahon Whitehurst both died at a hospital shortly after the knife-stabbing attack at a Newark home Saturday. A county spokesman says the two city residents are related but he declined further comment.

Syasia McBurroughs, a 23-year-old Hanover Township resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The three other victims - a 29-year-old woman, a 13-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl - all remained hospitalized Sunday in critical but stable condition.

Authorities say two children and a woman were fatally stabbed at a Newark home during an attack that left three others injured.

Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray said that an 11-year-old boy, 8-year-old girl, and 23-year-old woman were killed in the stabbing around 4 p.m. Saturday.

Two other 13-year-olds and a 29-year-old woman were hospitalized in stable condition with stab wounds at a hospital.

Authorities identified a person of interest wanted for questioning in the attacks, but that man had not been charged.

Newark Mayor Ras Baraka asked anyone with information to come forward to help police arrest the attacker.

Many of the victims were family members, but their exact relationships weren’t immediately known.
