MOSS POINT, Miss. (AP) - The Moss Point Board of Aldermen has decided the city is ready to seek new law enforcement leadership.

The Mississippi Press reports (https://bit.ly/2e5FhuE ) the board voted 5-2 this week to advertise for a new police chief to head up the Moss Point Police Department.

Turmoil within the police department reached its peak after Pascagoula police dash cam footage was released of former police chief Art McClung allegedly driving 109 mph in his city-assigned police SUV.

Officers’ conversation indicated that McClung had been drinking, but on the instructions of Pascagoula police chief he was taken home without charges and no report was filed.

He later resigned after the board of aldermen voted to dismiss him.
