BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Police in Boise have arrested a man on sex charges after he showed up to meet with an underage child he’d met online and instead found authorities waiting for him.

Police said late Friday in a statement that 34-year-old Michael Gerhardt of Boise was arrested on suspicion of lewd conduct and sexual exploitation of a child.

He was booked into Ada County Jail.

The female victim told police she met Gerhardt using an online app on Oct. 29.

She arranged to meet with him Thursday but when he showed up, he was taken into custody.

Police say there may be more victims and the investigation is ongoing.

No further details were available.

It wasn’t immediately clear Saturday if Gerhardt had retained an attorney.
