WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) - Geoff Wade threw for 308 yards and a touchdown and Brendan Flaherty caught nine passes for 196 yards as Holy Cross edged Georgetown 21-20 on Saturday.

The Hoyas pulled to 21-17 with 2:46 left before halftime after a 13-play 72-yard drive was capped by Alex Valles’ 4-yard run. Henry Darmstadter made a 49-yard field goal with 7:25 left in the third, but the Hoyas’ Clay Norris was intercepted on their final two drives of the game.

Wade led an eight-play, 76-yard drive on the Crusaders’ first possession of the game and Domenic Cozier carried it in from two yards out for a 7-0 lead. But Michael Dereus the returned the ensuing kickoff 100 yards to tie it.

After trading punts, Holy Cross (4-6, 2-3 Patriot League) took the lead for good when Wade completed a 6-yard TD pass to Martin Dorsey before the first quarter ended. Georgetown (3-6, 0-4) cut the lead to 14-10 with a field goal before Cozier scored again from 5-yards out for a 21-10 lead.
