ATLANTA (AP) - Georgia’s secretary of state says the state has broken an early voting record set eight years ago.
Secretary of State Brian Kemp, the state’s top elections official, announced Friday that Georgians have cast more than 2,390,000 early ballots. That’s far more than the 2,129,316 early ballots case in 2008.
Kemp says the number will continue to climb Friday, the last day of advance in-person voting for the general election.
Those waiting for Election Day to cast their ballots can visit the secretary of state’s website or mobile app to check registration status, see a sample ballot and find their voting location. Kemp says polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
