NEW YORK (AP) - Chicago Cubs pitcher Jon Lester has been voted the Babe Ruth award as postseason MVP by the New York chapter of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America.

Lester was 3-1 with a 2.02 ERA in five starts and one relief appearance as the Cubs won their first title since 1908. He will receive the honor at the chapter’s annual dinner on Jan. 21.

Cubs closer Aroldis Chapman, Cleveland Indians reliever Andrew Miller and New York Yankees reliever Dellin Betances will receive the Willie, Mickey & The Duke award. They formed a formidable trio for the Yankees before Chapman and Miller were dealt ahead of the Aug. 1 trade deadline.

Cubs outfielder Kyle Schwarber was voted the Arthur and Milton Richman You Gotta Have Heart award. Expected to be sidelined until 2017 after tearing knee ligaments on April 7 and undergoing surgery, Schwarber returned for the World Series and hit .412 (7 for 17).

Boston’s David Ortiz and the Yankees’ Mark Teixeira, who are both retiring, shared the William J. Slocum and Jack Lang Award for Long and Meritorious Service.

Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon, the 43-year-old who went 15-8 on an injury-ravaged pitching staff and entertained fans with his first big league home run and behind-the-back flip, gets the Joe DiMaggio Toast of the Town award.

Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard was selected New York Player of the Year, and Hector Lopez, an outfielder for the Yankees from 1959-66 who became the first Panamanian to play in the World Series, was voted the Casey Stengel You Could Look It Up award.

Shannon Forde, who worked in the media relations department for the New York Mets for more than 20 years until her death in March from breast cancer at age 44, was voted the renamed Joan Payson/Shannon Forde award for community service.

Yankees third baseman Chase Headley got the Ben Epstein/Dan Castellano Good Guy award.
