HORTONVILLE, Wis. (AP) - Residents of Hortonville are trying to get answers as to why their longtime police chief has been put on leave.
Chief Michael Sullivan was put on paid leave about two weeks ago, but village leaders have refused to say why. Sullivan has been the chief for 14 years, and says he’s been treated unfairly. He says he knows only “bits and pieces” of what’s going on.
WLUK-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2e8EeKd ) that dozens of people filled the Hortonville Village Board room Thursday, demanding answers. The matter wasn’t on the agenda, and the village administrator and board members didn’t discuss it in public. They did talk about it in a session closed to the public.
Community members and the fire department have submitted a petition to have Sullivan reinstated.
