ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - The death of Cuba’s longtime leader didn’t stop flights from resuming between Orlando, Florida, and Havana for the first time in decades.

JetBlue on Tuesday launched the inaugural flight from Orlando International Airport to Cuba.

It is the only direct commercial flight service, at the moment. Round trip flights will take place daily.

The airline this week also is starting service to Cuba from Fort Lauderdale and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Cuba’s leader of more than 50 decades, Fidel Castro, died last week.
