DALLAS (AP) - Prosecutors say a Texas woman who operated a home health care company has pleaded guilty in a case linked to more than $40 million in fraudulent services.
Myrna S. Parcon pleaded guilty Tuesday in Dallas to conspiracy to commit health care fraud in cases involving Medicare beneficiaries. The 63-year-old Dallas woman faces up to 10 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000 and could be required to make restitution.
Prosecutors say four co-defendants earlier pleaded guilty to conspiracy or health care fraud-related counts. A sixth person awaits trial.
Investigators say Parcon and her associates, from 2009 through mid-2013, conspired to defraud Medicare related to physician house call visits. Prosecutors say falsified documents led to Medicare paying millions of dollars for fraudulent services, amid questions about need and providers.
