HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - The state’s two Democratic U.S. senators are planning to talk about the upcoming lame-duck session in Congress.

Sens. Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy say they want to discuss how they will advocate for Connecticut priorities in the session that begins this week.

The lame duck session refers to the period of time between the election of Republican Donald Trump as president and the departure of the current president, Democrat Barack Obama, in January.

Blumenthal and Murphy are planning to hold their press conference Monday at 12:30 p.m. at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford.

The election of Trump means that Republicans will hold power in the White House and both chambers of Congress.
