NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - Hundreds have gathered in a Connecticut city after an immigrant advocacy group organized a rally to protest the election of Donald Trump.

The organization - Unidad Latina en Accion, or Latinos united in action - held the rally on Thursday evening outside the federal courthouse in New Haven.

WFSB-TV reports that protesters say they want the world to know they don’t find the Republican Trump an acceptable choice for president. WTIC-TV reports the organization says “Trump has given his followers implicit permission to hate.”

Protesters marched around the green and stopped outside the courthouse.

Thousands have been gathering in cities across the nation to voice opposition to Trump’s election.
