BOSTON (AP) - A Haitian community says a woman shot and killed in Boston had moved to the United States from Haiti just three months ago.

The Boston Police Department on Tuesday identified 36-year-old Benine Timothee as the victim of the Saturday afternoon shooting.

Police say Timothee was shot while walking down a street in the Dorchester neighborhood. She died at a hospital.

A teenage boy was also wounded by the gunfire but survived.

No arrests have been made.

Victoria Fleury of the Association for Haitian Women in Boston says Timothee had moved to Massachusetts from Les Cayes, Haiti, to be reunited with her husband, who had lived in Boston for several years. The organization is working with Timothee’s family to raise money so her body can be returned to Haiti.
