SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) - Attorneys for three teenagers charged in the death of a northeastern Pennsylvania police officer who fell 15 feet while chasing them are seeking to have the case moved to another county and to give each defendant their own trial.
The (Scranton) Times-Tribune (https://bit.ly/2f69Obd ) reports that pretrial motions were filed Friday and Monday in the Lackawanna County cases against Isiah Edwards, Nasiir Jones and Tanner Curtis, who are scheduled for trial in February.
All were 17 when they were charged with second-degree murder and murder of a law enforcement officer following the July 2015 death of Scranton officer John Wilding.
Defense attorneys cited media coverage in seeking a change of venue or a jury being brought in from another county. They also want separate trials and suppression of some evidence.
