Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton said Sunday she has yet to be contacted by FBI officials investigating her use of a private email account while secretary of state.
In an interview on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” the former first lady acknowledged that her top aides have been part of the ongoing investigation but said no one has yet tried to talk to her, despite her full willingness to participate in the inquiry.
“No one has reached out to me yet … I’m more than ready to talk to anybody, anytime, and I’ve encouraged all of my assistants to be very forthcoming and I hope this is being close to being wrapped up,” she said.
Mrs. Clinton used a private email server while secretary of state rather than an official state.gov email address. Hundreds of messages now marked “classified” passed through that account, and Mrs. Clinton herself has admitted that using the server was a mistake.
She repeatedly has guaranteed the public that she will not be indicted in connection with the email scandal.
