Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump said Friday he’s meeting with House Speaker Paul D. Ryan next week, after Mr. Ryan said Thursday he wasn’t yet ready to get behind Mr. Trump’s candidacy.

“We’re meeting next week,” Mr. Trump said on “Fox and Friends.” “I believe it’s Wednesday.”

Mr. Trump said he was surprised to hear Mr. Ryan’s comments Thursday that the speaker is not ready to support him yet.

“I mean, he talks about unity, but what is this about unity?” he said. “With millions of people coming into the party, obviously I’m saying the right thing.”

“I will tell you, I have many endorsements from yesterday; they’re coming in left and right. He’s one of the only ones that really was surprising,” Mr. Trump said.

Mr. Ryan had said Thursday on CNN that he’s not yet ready to support Mr. Trump as the nominee, and Mr. Trump had fired back in a statement that he’s not ready to support Mr. Ryan’s agenda.
