Appearing on the Friday evening edition of HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher,” Bernie Sanders denounced Republican presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump as a “pathological liar” who would literally be a danger on the world stage, the Huffington Post reported early Saturday morning.

“I don’t mean to be malicious, but it’s just the damn truth,” the Vermont senator said. “He would be not only be an embarrassment, but a real danger to this entire world if he would become president.”

When host Bill Maher brought up how “Mr. Macho chickened out” of the proposed debate between Mr. Sanders and Mr. Trump to benefit charity, the Vermont senator suggested that the Manhattan businessman was a blustery bully who’s actually afraid of a fair fight.

“Trump claims to be a real tough guy, pushes people around,” Mr. Sanders told Mr. Maher. “Hey Donald, come on up, let’s have a debate about the future of America.”

For his part, in the show’s opening monologue, Mr. Maher urged his audience members to take to Twitter to “brand” Mr. Trump as a “whiny little bitch” who is scared to appear on set with Mr. Maher.
