The campaign arm for House Democrats is dishing out free “stop bigotry” stickers to supporters in response to Donald Trump clinching the 2016 GOP presidential nomination.
The Democratic Campaign Congressional Committee said in a fundraising email Thursday that it is “alarmed” by the prospect of Mr. Trump winning the The White House and called on supporters to show their disdain with their blue-and-white stickers that include a silhouette portrait resembling the New York real estate developer.
“Now is the time to let everyone know you stand against his fear-mongering, bigoted rhetoric,” the DCCC said in a fundraising email blast.
An Internet search shows the free sticker campaign dates back at least to mid-December, but it appears the DCCC is using the AP’s announcement Thursday that Mr. Trump has locked down a simple majority of GOP convention delegates to give the promotion a new boost.
Democrats are hoping that Mr. Trump will prove to be more unpopular than Hillary Clinton, the likely Democratic presidential nominee, in the general election, helping them pick up seats in the House and flip control of the Senate.
