Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump said on Wednesday that protesters outside his New Mexico rally Tuesday evening were “thugs” who were flying the Mexican flag.
“The protesters in New Mexico were thugs who were flying the Mexican flag. The rally inside was big and beautiful, but outside, criminals!” Mr. Trump tweeted.
The Associated Press reported that protesters outside of Mr. Trump’s rally in Albuquerque threw burning T-shirts, plastic bottles and other items at police officers, injuring several, and toppled trash cans and barricades.
