Sen. Bernard Sanders’ presidential campaign manager on Wednesday said Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who chairs the Democratic National Committee, has “lashed out” at the Sanders campaign on a number of occasions and that things have gotten “personal” for her.
“Whether it was the cramped debate schedule at the beginning, whether it was shutting Senator Sanders off from his own data right before the Iowa caucuses,” Sanders campaign manager Jeff Weaver said on “Fox and Friends.” “There’s a number of examples.”
Mr. Weaver did say it’s not everybody at the DNC, and that he has conversations with high-level DNC people on a regular basis.
“I think it became very personal for her,” Mr. Weaver said. “She has lashed out at the campaign…on a number of occasions - these joint fundraising agreements which took money from state parties and gave it to the DNC.”
“Or the latest - the standing committees at the convention where they [tried] to keep the Sanders people off,” he said. “There’s just been example after example, and I think it has become sort of personal, and I think that’s really unfortunate, because really Democrats should be working together to bring the party together after the convention, that’s for sure.”
