Sen. Lindsey Graham, one of the most prominent #NeverTrump adherents, has started urging fellow Republicans to get on the Trump Train.

Mr. Graham, who fiercely clashed with Donald Trump during the primaries and vowed never to support him, encouraged Republican donors at a private fundraiser Saturday in Florida to back their presumptive nominee, reported CNN.

“He did say that we need to get behind him,” Teresa Dailey, a prominent Florida Republican fundraiser who attended the private event, told the cable news channel.

It was the latest sign that Republican Party leaders were uniting behind Mr. Trump, although House Speaker Paul D. Ryan continues to withhold his full support.

Mr. Graham reportedly stressed the importance of keeping likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton from the White House, which has been a reoccurring theme among Republican officials who reluctantly get aboard with Mr. Trump.

A spokesman for the senator confirmed that Mr. Graham attended a fundraiser but insisted that Mr. Graham had not changed his position and would not formally endorse Mr. Trump.

Mr. Graham previously said that he does not support a third-party challenge to Mr. Trump because it risked helping Mrs. Clinton.

He also has said that he will not cast his vote for either Mr. Trump or Mrs. Clinton, opting to leave the ballot blank or write in a choice for president.
