Hillary Clinton indicated Monday that former President Bill Clinton wouldn’t get a Cabinet post if she wins the White House, although she has promised to put her husband “in charge of revitalizing the economy.”

During a campaign stop at Little Castle diner in Paducah, Kentucky, the Democratic presidential hopeful was asked repeatedly about the role Mr. Clinton would play in her administration.

She ignored the questions from reporters in the crowded diner. But when asked if Mr. Clinton would serve on her Cabinet, she shook her head and mouthed, “No,” according to ABC News.

A day earlier, Mrs. Clinton told a rally in Covington, Kentucky, that Mr. Clinton would head up the effort to improve the U.S. economy if she becomes president.

“He knows how to do it,” she said. “And especially in places like coal country and inner cities and other parts of our country that have really been left out.”

Mrs. Clinton has struggled in coal states, most notably losing the primary in West Virginia, for backing anti-coal politcis and saying, “We’re going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business.”

Mrs. Clinton is campaigning hard for the primary Tuesday in Kentucky, where she is looking for a win that will break the momentum of rival Sen. Bernard Sanders.

She remains the likely Democratic nominee, but Mr. Sanders continues to score victories and has vowed to take his far-left campaign all the way to the July convention in Philadelphia, making it difficult for Mrs. Clinton to turn her attention to the general election and presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump.
