Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump is testing out a new nickname for a potential rival, saying Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton is having problems in her own race against “Crazy Bernie.”
“She’s got problems. She’s got a lot of problems,” Mr. Trump said Wednesday on “Fox and Friends.” “You look at this ’Crazy Bernie’ character, you look at him, and you see what’s going on, and she’s got some difficulty, there’s no question about it.”
Mr. Trump said “everything, really, about Hillary is rigged.”
“How can she run with what she did with the emails?” he said. “That’s maybe rigged. Who knows what’s going on? The Democrats seem to control it. It’s a horrible thing.”
“And the election — every time you see it, you know, I call him ’Crazy Bernie’ [because] he’s not very good,” the businessman said. “Probably beating him would be easier.”
“Who’s going to run against a socialist and lose? I mean, he’s a socialist. You’re going to pay 95 percent tax,” Mr. Trump said.
“He wins, wins, wins and then everybody sits around a table saying he can’t win,” he said.
Mr. Sanders picked up another win in West Virginia on Tuesday, though he’s still well back of Mrs. Clinton in pledged delegates and superdelegates in the Democratic presidential primary contest.
