Hillary Clinton on Wednesday night brushed off her loss in Michigan a day earlier and said the Democratic presidential race is “a marathon” that she’s confident she’ll win.
At a Democratic debate in Miami, Mrs. Clinton said the Michigan result wasn’t particularly surprising or damaging to her campaign.
“I won one of the contests and lost another,” she said, referring to her win in the Mississippi primary. “I’m continuing to work hard for every single vote across our country. I was pleased I got 100,000 more votes last night than my opponent.”
The result in Michigan surprised virtually everyone, and Mr. Sanders said he’s confident he has momentum moving forward.
“Our message of the need for people to stand up and tell corporate America and Wall Street that they cannot have it all is resonating across this country,” he said.
