I am a big fan of Walt Disney and all that he accomplished in the field of entertainment. But I’m sure he would be adamantly against the recent threat by the company he founded to cease all filming in Georgia should the state enact a religious-liberty bill, the Free Exercise Protection Act (“Disney, Marvel threaten to boycott Georgia over religious freedom bill,” Web, March 23).

Before my son’s recent wedding we shopped around for a good location for a rehearsal dinner. Disney threat anti-freedom When we were not totally satisfied with one location, we went to another until we found the best fit. We always look around when making a purchase to find just the right item.

The gay community does not seem to follow this proess. If it encounters a business whose proprietor does not wish to cater a gay function for religious or other reasons, it doesn’t consider going to any of the many other establishments that would be glad to serve it. No, the gay community, which I find to be the most intolerant, aggressive and belligerent minority, feels that it needs to make an example and punish unwilling businesses. It does not matter that not everyone endorses the gay community’s moral values, some of which many find amoral.

This nation was established by people seeking religious freedom. The gay community is seeking to do just the opposite and eliminate our religious freedom.
