GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump trails in Utah to both former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernard Sanders of Vermont, according to a new poll.
Mrs. Clinton, the Democratic front-runner, led Mr. Trump by 2 points, 38 percent to 36 percent, and Mr. Sanders led Mr. Trump by 11 points, 48 percent to 37 percent, according to the Deseret News/KSL poll released Sunday.
Sixteen percent said they wouldn’t vote in a Trump-Clinton match-up, and 9 percent said they wouldn’t vote in a Trump-Sanders match-up.
Sen. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Mr. Trump’s remaining 2016 GOP rivals, were both well ahead of Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Sanders in the poll.
Mr. Cruz led Mrs. Clinton by a nearly 2-to-1 margin, 60 percent to 32 percent, and led Mr. Sanders by 14 points, 53 percent to 39 percent.
Mr. Kasich led Mrs. Clinton by 30 points, 59 percent to 29 percent, and he led Mr. Sanders by 19 points, 54 percent to 35 percent.
Utah last went to the Democratic candidate in a presidential election in 1964, when former President Lyndon B. Johnson carried 44 states running against Sen. Barry Goldwater of Arizona.
