A former Hillary Clinton presidential-campaign worker, who took the Fifth Amendment before Congress over her email arrangement, is now reportedly cooperating with prosecutors.
A senior U.S. law enforcement official told The Washington Post on condition of anonymity that Bryan Pagliano was working with the FBI and had been granted immunity.
After working for Mrs. Clinton in the 2008 race, Mr. Pagliano set up the email server at her New York home.
The FBI is investigating whether Mrs. Clinton’s email arrangement violated laws governing the handling of classified information.
The FBI, Justice Department and Mr. Pagliano’s lawyer all declined to talk to the Post.
But prominent legal scholar Jonathan Turley said the report, if true, is not good news for Mrs. Clinton, the Democratic presidential front-runner.
“DOJ does not give immunity without something valuable from a potential target like Bryan Pagliano. The situation just got more precarious,” tweeted Mr. Turley, a law professor at the George Washington University.
