Ohio Gov. John Kasich says 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney, who is scheduled to campaign with Mr. Kasich Monday, should help him in the Buckeye State.
“Well look, he [was] the standard-bearer four years ago. It’s always good to have the standard-bearer come in,” Mr. Kasich said Monday on Fox News. “He’ll help us in the state.”
Mr. Kasich also pointed out that he personally has nearly an 80 percent approval rating among Republicans in Ohio, but that he’s not taking anything for granted. The latest Real Clear Politics polling average gives Mr. Kasich a slight edge in the state over GOP front-runner Donald Trump.
“Our town halls and our rallies are really strong. … We’re going to win the state, and then we’re going to move on, and it’s going to be a lot of fun,” Mr. Kasich said.
