Talk radio kingpin Mark Levin has endorsed Sen. Ted Cruz for president, announcing his decision Wednesday night on LevinTV, his newly minted broadcast show. Mr. Levin said the death of Nancy Reagan prompted his decision to go public with his choice.
“I support Ted Cruz for president of the United States because he appreciate, he embraces, he understands, and he has fought for the Constitution, the republic, individual sovereignty, separation of powers, the Bill of Rights, family, faith, a secure border, our national security,” said Mr. Levin, citing much U.S. history as he went - while faulting the “Republican ruling class” and noting that America is now living through a “post-Constitution” era.
Mr. Cruz, he said, understands where the nation has been, and where it should go.
“Nobody is perfect. It’s not that we seek perfection, or that we look for nitpicky ways to oppose somebody. No, you look at the whole picture, you take the whole life of the individual, you look at their entire career over a period of time,” he continued. “And when you do that, it really is a simple decision is it not? If you are a conservative, if you’re a constitutionalist, if you’ve been a tea party activist, if you’re a Reaganite or a Reagan Democrat, it really is, in the end, a simple decision.”
