Ohio Gov. John Kasich has a 5-point edge over GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump in Mr. Kasich’s home state ahead of the all-important winner-take-all contest Tuesday, according to a new Fox News poll.

Mr. Kasich had 34 percent support from likely Republican primary voters in Ohio, leading Mr. Trump at 29 percent, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas at 19 percent, and Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida at 7 percent, according to the poll released Wednesday.

Mr. Kasich led Mr. Trump by 1 point among men, but 10 points among women. He also led Mr. Trump by 5 points among evangelical Christians.

Mr. Kasich had a 79 percent approval rating among Republicans, compared to just 15 percent who disapproved.

Twenty-six percent of Ohio Republicans — and 39 percent of Kasich supporters — said they would refuse to support Mr. Trump against the Democratic nominee in November.

Eleven percent said they would refuse to support Mr. Cruz, 10 percent said the same of Mr. Rubio, and 6 percent said they wouldn’t support Mr. Kasich.
