Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Donald Trump vowed in the GOP debate Thursday night to end the Common Core federal education program.
“Common Core is a disaster,” Mr. Cruz said, adding that as president he would issue an order immediately “that Common Core ends that day.”
The good news about President Obama’s education policies, he said: “Everything done with executive power can be undone with executive power.”
Mr. Trump also was critical of Common Core, and has said it’s a “total disaster.”
