GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump said Tuesday that Sen. Marco Rubio’s recent insults on the campaign trail don’t compare to famed put-down artist and comedian Don Rickles.

“It’s not who he is,” Mr. Trump said Tuesday on “Fox and Friends.” “I didn’t like it. I was getting along with him very well, then all of a sudden he was told to do this by his supporters, I guess. But all of a sudden, he became Don Rickles. And he’s not Don Rickles. Not gonna happen.”

In recent days on the campaign trail, Mr. Rubio has made fun of the size of Mr. Trump’s hands, his hair, his tan and several misspelled tweets from Mr. Trump that had insulted Mr. Rubio.

Mr. Trump, meanwhile, has labeled Mr. Rubio a choke artist who sweats a lot and has big ears.
