Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump says he doesn’t care if a judge overseeing a fraud case being brought against Trump University “is Mexican or not” and that all he wants is a “fair shake.”

“I don’t care if the judge is Mexican or not — I’m going to do great with the Mexican people [because] I provide jobs, so I don’t care about Mexican,” Mr. Trump said on Monday evening’s “The O’Reilly Factor” on Fox News.

“But we’re being treated very unfairly,” he said. “Very, very unfairly.”

Mr. Trump has said in recent days that the Indiana-born judge, Gonzalo Curiel, has a conflict of interest because of his Mexican heritage and the fact that Mr. Trump has pledged to build a wall along the United States’ southern border.

Democrats, and a number of Republicans, have chided Mr. Trump for the comments.

“I don’t care about Mexican or not Mexican — all I want him to do is give me a fair shake,” Mr. Trump said. “When we have thousands of people saying the courses were great, why does this thing continue to go forward?”

Mr. Trump said he wants to talk about the economy, the Islamic State terrorist group and the border, “but every time I go and do a show, all they want to do is talk about Trump University.”

The real estate mogul also predicted he would do well with women.

“I was the one that really broke the glass ceiling on behalf of women more than anybody in the construction industry,” he said. “And my relationship, I think, is going to end up being very good with women.”
