MMA fighter Kimbo Slice died Monday at age 42.

Slice, whose real name is Kevin Ferguson, was hospitalized “in dire condition” on Monday near his home in Coral Springs, Florida, the website reported.

The cause of death was not immediately available, but Sgt. Carla Kmiotek of the Coral Springs police told Yahoo Sports that “There is no foul play suspected and there is no investigation. It is being handled as a medical incident.”

Slice rose to fame through internet videos featuring backyard street fights before moving on to UFC and Bellator MMA.

He defeated Dada 5000 in his last fight, at Bellator 149 in February, but was later stripped of the victory after testing positive for steroids.

“We are all shocked and saddened by the devastating and untimely loss of Kimbo Slice, a beloved member of the Bellator family,” Bellator President Scott Coker said in a statement. “One of the most popular MMA fighters ever, Kimbo was a charismatic, larger-than-life personality that transcended the sport.”
